• Pros and cons after a 2-night stay
After a not-so-great memory from our last stay at Embassy Suites by Hilton, we decided it was time for a change.
This time… Marriott! Finally.
With summer break coming up and the kids desperately wanting a getaway, I did a quick last-minute search and found a surprisingly reasonable price. So just one week before departure, we booked a 2-night, 3-day stay at:
Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa
Location: Right in the Heart of Fallsview
These three hotels sit right next to each other:
•Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls (left)
•Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa (middle – where we stayed)
•Embassy Suites by Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview (right)
They’re literally side by side, which makes comparing views inevitable.

Check-In & First Impression
While waiting to check in at the lobby, we were greeted by this view. Horseshoe Falls was right in front of us, and we were lucky enough to see a rainbow as well.

At the time of booking, I had to choose between a low-floor or high-floor Fallsview room. Since we were already paying around $600 for two nights, I chose the low floor and hoped for a possible upgrade at check-in.
I had heard that sometimes you can negotiate a deal for a higher floor… but nope. It was peak season.
💰 Upgrade cost:
•$70 per night
•Total: $140 + tax for two nights
We decided to skip the upgrade, enjoy the falls outside instead, and added breakfast for both mornings instead.
Room Condition & Fallsview Reality (Low Floor)
The room itself was… just okay. Honestly, my expectations for Canadian hotels are already pretty low. As long as there’s a coffee machine and a kettle, I’m fine. We usually travel with our own kids’ dishes anyway.

Our room was on the 5th floor, and when I opened the curtains…

Let’s just say the view was a bit underwhelming. The lobby view was actually better.
👉 Tip:
If the Fallsview is very important to you, a higher floor is probably worth considering.
Pool Time = The Real Purpose of This Trip
Our goal for this staycation was simple: the pool.
Our kids don’t care much about sightseeing anymore. A comfy bed + unlimited swimming = happiness. We checked in and went straight to the pool, where the kids swam for a couple of hours.

There is an outdoor terrace where you can see a tiny bit of the falls, but let’s be honest—when you have two kids, you’re not standing outside admiring the view anyway.

After swimming, we had dinner in the room, and the kids passed out almost immediately.
Fireworks from the Room
Niagara Falls has fireworks every night at 10:00 PM, lasting about 5 minutes. My husband watched and said, “Is that it…?”
It wasn’t exactly mind-blowing, more like “oh, that’s cute” fireworks—but still nice. I personally love these things, and I almost ran out to see them closer from the falls, but my husband stopped me (probably for the best—going alone felt a bit scary).

Breakfast: Not Worth the Price
After a good night’s sleep, we headed down for breakfast. We wanted a window seat, but those were only for two people. As a family of four, we were seated inside.

To be honest, I didn’t expect much, but it still felt disappointing. It was a very typical American breakfast, and if you like that style, you might enjoy it.

But at almost $30 per person, it definitely wasn’t worth the price for us. So yes—we went straight to the front desk and canceled breakfast for the second day.
Easy Access to Niagara Falls (Big Plus)
One thing that was really convenient about this hotel was the incline railway located right below. We bought all-day passes online for the whole family and exchanged them for physical tickets on-site.

The ride down itself was already a nice experience, with great views along the way.

We took a quick walk by the falls— we’ve been here so many times that even the kids weren’t impressed anymore. Ice cream was the only successful motivation to keep them walking.
Still, Niagara Falls is always majestic, and I’m grateful we live close enough to visit often.

Nearby Attractions & Relaxed Second Day
We also stopped by Fallsview Casino Resort, where there’s a small shopping area on the first floor.

There was a gelato shop, so we cooled down with ice cream while taking a short break. The staff was friendly, and the shop felt cozy and cute.
Back at the hotel, most guests had already checked out, so we ended up with an almost empty pool—basically private. This is why I love 2-night stays. There’s no rush, just pure relaxation.
Where to Go After a Fallsview Stay: Niagara-on-the-Lake
After two nights at Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview, our trip felt complete—but we also didn’t want to head straight home. If you have a bit of extra time, Niagara-on-the-Lake is an easy and rewarding stop to add after a Fallsview stay. It offers a slower pace, walkable streets, and kid-friendly treats that contrast nicely with the busy Falls area.

Final Stop: Mandarin Buffet & Heading Home
After checking out, we drove toward Niagara-on-the-Lake and stopped by Mandarin Buffet.
I’ve been to Mandarin many times, but I’ve never seen salmon sashimi cut that thick before.

We left full, happy, and very satisfied. It was a simple but well-balanced family trip—
definitely a successful getaway.
Comparing Marriott Fallsview with Embassy Suites
If you’re choosing between Fallsview hotels for a family trip, Marriott Fallsview offers a more consistent experience in terms of room comfort, service, and family-friendly features.
While Embassy Suites Niagara Falls may seem appealing due to its view and dual-room layout, our experience showed several challenges that can make a family stay more stressful. You can read our full Embassy Suites review for more details on what families might want to avoid.
Overall, if your priority is a smooth, hassle-free stay with children, Marriott Fallsview is the safer and more reliable choice.
Final Thoughts: Is It Worth It?
Pros
•Excellent location and easy access to the falls
•Great pool for families with kids
•Incline railway right below the hotel
Cons
•Low-floor Fallsview rooms have limited views
•Breakfast is overpriced for what you get
•Room condition is just average
Would I stay here again?
👉 Yes—but I’d either choose a higher floor or skip the Fallsview premium altogether.
