Canopy by Hilton Toronto Yorkville is a stylish boutique hotel in downtown Toronto. Great location, clean rooms, indoor pool, and family-friendly amenities reviewed.
Quick Overview
• Modern boutique hotel opened in 2023
• Clean, comfortable rooms ideal for a family stay
• Quiet, refined atmosphere (less crowded than large chain hotels)
• Excellent Yorkville location with subway access next door
• Indoor pool is spacious and calm, but water is slightly cool
• Parking is expensive, though nearby public parking is a good alternative
Even though our family has moved to Canada, we still love going on hotel getaways. Until now, we’ve mostly visited Niagara, but this time we decided to stay in downtown Toronto.
Since it’s a popular tourist area, hotel prices can be high. After searching around the city center, we chose Canopy by Hilton Toronto Yorkville, which offered a reasonable price, convenient location, and family-friendly environment.
In the end, we were very satisfied with the location, service, and overall atmosphere, making it a perfect choice for our Toronto stay.
First Impressions
As soon as we stepped into the lobby, a subtle scent of wood filled the air. The atmosphere was quiet yet warm, offering a cozy welcome.

Unlike the bustling feel of large chain hotels, the boutique hotel charm was immediately noticeable, with a stylish and calm environment that set the tone for our stay.

The Room
Since the hotel opened in 2023, the rooms felt fresh and airy the moment we walked in. From the walls and ceilings to the bathroom, everything looked brand new. The clean and modern interior instantly made us feel comfortable. Most importantly, the bedding was cozy and spotless, with no odors at all, making it perfect for relaxing with the kids.

The rooms were not only modern and stylish but also extremely clean, which made our stay with the children much less stressful and more enjoyable.

Comfort & Cleanliness
The rooms were spacious enough for our family, and what we enjoyed most was simply spending relaxing time with the kids. The entire hotel had a quiet and tidy atmosphere, reflecting the sophisticated charm of a boutique hotel.

The coffee was made with genuine Nespresso capsules, and robes were provided, which we really appreciated. However, like many places here, there were no slippers. Maybe it’s because people usually wear shoes indoors? From now on, bringing slippers for our family of four has become a must!

Technology & In-Room Features
The lighting and curtains were all operated via touch controls. At first, we were a bit unsure how to use them, but once we got the hang of it, they were actually very convenient. Control panels were located at the entrance, in the bathroom, and beside the bed, so you could adjust everything from anywhere in the room.

Although we didn’t use it ourselves, it seemed that the room could also be controlled through the Hilton app. The app’s “Chat with Us” feature was especially helpful, providing real-time answers to any questions we had—a really useful tool for guests.

Indoor Pool & Amenities
Since it was a rainy day, we decided to postpone going out and instead had a fun time with the kids at the indoor pool on the 3rd floor. The pool was surprisingly spacious and quiet, which made the rainy day feel even more relaxing. However, the water was a bit chilly.

The hotel’s location was extremely convenient. With Sherbourne subway station right next door, getting around downtown Toronto was easy and hassle-free. On the first floor, there’s the popular Virtu Cafe, known for its delicious pastries.
Thanks to this central location, we were also able to easily visit Little Canada, one of Toronto’s most impressive indoor attractions, making this area perfect for both sightseeing and relaxing during our stay.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and 3 days, and the room service staff were incredibly friendly. There are also plenty of great restaurants and charming cafes nearby, making the hotel’s location even more convenient.
By the afternoon of the second day, the weather cleared up, and we were treated to a beautiful, clear sky.

Parking
Of course, there were a few minor drawbacks. Since the hotel is in the city center, parking was quite expensive. Hotel valet parking costs CAD 55 per day plus tip.

Since we were staying for two nights, we looked for a more affordable option and ended up using the public parking lot right next to the hotel’s back valet entrance, paying a total of CAD 95 for 2 nights and 3 days.

Who This Hotel Is Best For?
Canopy by Hilton Toronto Yorkville is a great choice for travelers who value a clean, modern stay in a walkable Toronto neighborhood.
This hotel works especially well for:
- Couples or solo travelers exploring downtown Toronto
- Families with young children who want a comfortable, well-organized room
- Visitors looking for easy access to cafés, restaurants, and subway stations in Yorkville
- Travelers who prefer a newer, boutique-style hotel without luxury pricing
If your priority is a convenient location and a reliable, comfortable stay rather than extensive on-site amenities, this hotel delivers excellent value for its price point.
Overall Impression
The location was convenient, right next to the hotel’s back door, which also eased any concerns about security. It made coming and going with what we needed very easy, so I would recommend this option if you plan to stay at the hotel.
Although our stay was short, those moments spent watching the rainy Toronto cityscape and chatting with the kids on the cozy bed will stay in my memory for a long time. I can’t wait to see which hotel we’ll try next!😆😆
